Are you passionate about enhancing a child or young person’s everyday life? Would you like to progress your career by working with children who require complex clinical care? Apollo Home Healthcare is seeking experienced Healthcare Assistants to support a young boy with complex care needs. We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistants who are passionate about their job, enjoy delivering one to one support and who can build positive relationships with our service users and their families. Our service user is a wonderful young boy who lives with his family in Accrington. He likes listening to music, being read to, and engaging in playtime activities and sensory play such as lights, sounds and textures. It is important that his care team promote his development by positive praise, play and interaction. During the night you will assist with his bedtime routine, carry out clinical interventions and observations, and ensure his safety always. He usually sleeps well but can have unsettled nights. He is totally dependent on his family and carers to meet his needs as he has no mobility and is unable to communicate verbally. You must be able to anticipate his wants and needs to avoid him becoming distressed or frustrated. Our ideal applicant will have a genuine interest and passion for working with children and be able to provide lots of laughter and smiles. Essential Experience Required * 6 months previous care experience * Medication Administration * Personal Care * Moving and Handling Desirable Experience * Tracheostomy Care * Epilepsy Knowledge * Seizure Management * Gastrostomy Care (PEG Feeding) We have the following shifts available; * Part Time Nights from 10pm – 8am * Saturday day shift available 12pm - 4pm This is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your clinical skills and experience, whilst delivering exceptional care and support to our service user, really making an impact on his day-to-day life.
